Church Farm Holidays in the Forest of Dean

The granary is situated in a stable courtyard complex next to the farmhouse. The building was newly converted in 1999 and furnished into two apartments, with separate access. We have tried to maintain some of the original character and features. The building is two storey and each apartment is on a separate floor with separate entrances. Each apartment has a bedroom, sitting/dining room, fully fitted kitchen and bathroom with bath and hand shower. Sleeps 2/3 people.

Bed linen and towels are provided. Double or twin beds available. (A sofa-bed is available for a third person). Outside there is an area to sit and have a barbecue. We have 50 acres of rolling grassland including, a small wood with stream and various farm animals and horses for you to enjoy Your pets are welcome by prior arrangement.

St. Michael's Church - originally built as a chapel of ease, the church was expanded in the 14th century to include nave, south aisle and tower. The arms of the Freeminers can be seen on the south side of the tower and on the 18th century font. Abenhall church is 1.5 km south of Mitcheldean and is set in beautiful surroundings on the edge of the Forest. Old Parish baptism, marriage and burial registers, from 1596, are stored at the Gloucestershire Record Office.
