Offa's Dyke Path

This long distance National Trail of some 177 miles. Follows the borders between England and Wales, and within the Forest of Dean section it covers the Wye Valley between Chepstow and Ross-on-Wye. A book is available from most good bookshops.

The Wye Valley Walk

This follows the River Wye for 53 miles and follows a slightly different route to the Offa's Dyke Path. A book is available form most good bookshops and the Coleford Tourist Information Centre.

The Gloucestershire Way

Within the Forest of Dean, this covers a route from Chepstow to Symonds Yat taking in the Wye Valley and then includes one of the best viewpoints in this area. From May Hill, you can get spectacular viewpoints across the Severn and Wye Valley as well as the Black Mountains in Wales. It is distinctive by the large clump of trees on the summit.

The Wysis Way

Within the Forest of Dean, this walk passes from the west to the east of the district, covering areas such as Staunton, near Coleford, Hillersland, Mitcheldean and May Hill, before continuing through the Vale of Leadon, taking in Longhope, Taynton and Tibberton.
